π‘ Real-World Walkthrough ($100,000 Trailing Challenge)
You start at $100,000 with a $10,000 (10%) trailing limit (Floor: $90,000). On Tuesday, you close the day at $102,000. Your Peak Equity becomes $102,000, and your Max Total Floor permanently trails up to $92,000 ($102,000 - $10,000).
If on Wednesday your balance drops to $100,500, your Peak Equity remains locked at $102,000, and your floor remains locked at $92,000.
β οΈ Pro Trader Trap (The #1 Challenge Killer)
Many traders suffer a losing day and lower this Peak Equity field to match their lowered balance. Never do this! If your peak was $102,000, keep it set at $102,000 even if your current balance drops to $100,500. Lowering it artificially lowers the calculated floor, tricking you into thinking you have buffer that does not exist!
